Viterbo, 9 settembre 2023 – Dalle ore 21:15 di questa sera, presso il Carcere di Viterbo, si sta verificando una situazione di tensione senza precedenti. Sei detenuti di nazionalità marocchina hanno messo in scena una protesta che ha assunto rapidamente proporzioni preoccupanti.
La protesta dei detenuti ha raggiunto un punto critico quando hanno minacciato di autolesionarsi, mettendo in allarme le Autorità penitenziarie. Immediatamente, anche i Poliziotti Penitenziari, liberi dal servizio, sono intervenuti per cercare di riportare la calma all’interno dell’istituto carcerario.
Il Direttore del carcere ha preso una decisione drastica ed ha autorizzato l’uso dei manganelli per sedare la protesta. Nel frattempo, si è appreso che i detenuti hanno dato fuoco a diversi materassi all’interno delle loro celle, aggravando ulteriormente la situazione.
Il Direttore ed il Comandante del Carcere stanno lavorando incessantemente per risolvere la crisi in corso e garantire la sicurezza di tutti i presenti. Gli Ispettori del Gruppo Operativo Mobile (GOM) sono stati chiamati in supporto per gestire la situazione.
Al momento, non vi sono segnali che i detenuti intendano fermare la loro protesta e la situazione rimane estremamente instabile.
