Nella mattinata di oggi, la Casa Circondariale di Viterbo è stata teatro di un evento critico che ha scosso la tranquillità della struttura penitenziaria. Un detenuto “lavorante” presso il reparto D2, ha scatenato il caos distruggendo parte della sezione in cui si trovava. Il motivo dell’esplosione di violenza è da attribuire alla posticipazione di una video telefonata con i familiari, causata da problemi tecnici. La decisione di ritardare la comunicazione di due ore ha scatenato la furia del detenuto, portando ad un atto di vandalismo che ha messo in subbuglio mezza sezione.
Nel corso della serata, un secondo episodio critico ha avuto luogo nella struttura penitenziaria. Un detenuto, inserito nel regime 14 bis, dopo essersi rifiutato di rientrare nella propria cella, ha dato inizio ad un violento scontro con il Personale di Polizia Penitenziaria. L’episodio ha raggiunto il culmine quando il recluso ha aggredito con una stampella un Assistente Capo, infliggendogli varie lesioni al volto.
L’Organizzazione Sindacale Autonoma Polizia Penitenziaria (OSAPP) esprime la sua ferma condanna nei confronti delle recenti aggressioni subite dal Personale di Polizia Penitenziaria presso il Carcere di Viterbo. Le aggressioni nei confronti del Personale penitenziario sono inaccettabili e rappresentano una minaccia alla sicurezza all’interno delle strutture carcerarie. L’OSAPP sottolinea l’importanza di garantire un ambiente di lavoro sicuro per il Personale penitenziario, il quale svolge un ruolo fondamentale nella gestione delle strutture detentive. La violenza nei confronti del Personale penitenziario non solo mette a rischio la loro sicurezza, ma mina anche la stabilità delle strutture carcerarie, compromettendo gli sforzi volti alla riabilitazione dei detenuti. L’organizzazione sindacale auspica che le Autorità competenti intraprendano azioni tempestive per assicurare giustizia nei confronti degli autori di tali atti violenti e che siano implementate misure aggiuntive per prevenire future aggressioni all’interno del Carcere di Viterbo.
