Nel pomeriggio di ieri, attorno alle 17:00, un detenuto italiano di 62 anni, recluso per reati sessuali, ha tentato il suicidio presso il Carcere di Genova Pontedecimo. L’uomo, situato al piano terra della struttura penitenziaria, ha cercato di impiccarsi utilizzando un rudimentale cappio creato con un lembo di lenzuolo, legandosi alle sbarre della finestra del bagno e lasciandosi cadere.
L‘intervento tempestivo del Personale di Polizia Penitenziaria ha evitato la tragedia: gli Agenti sono riusciti prontamente a slegare il cappio ed eseguire le prime manovre di rianimazione. Il Personale Medico è intervenuto immediatamente, proseguendo le operazioni di soccorso fino all’arrivo dell’ambulanza con il Medico a bordo. Il detenuto è stato trasportato in Ospedale in condizioni critiche, classificato come codice rosso.
Si ipotizza, da informazioni ricevute, che il gesto disperato del detenuto sia stato scatenato dall’esito della sentenza ricevuta nella stessa giornata, considerando che la mattina stessa era stato accompagnato in tribunale per l’udienza. Nonostante le difficoltà organizzative, con soli due Poliziotti presenti su tre piani detentivi, l’efficace intervento delle Forze dell’Ordine ha permesso di evitare una tragedia che avrebbe potuto avere esiti fatali.
L’Organizzazione Sindacale Autonoma Polizia Penitenziaria (OSAPP) esprime i propri complimenti al Personale di Polizia Penitenziaria per la prontezza, la professionalità e l’assoluto senso di umanità dimostrati durante l’evento critico.
Il rapido intervento degli Agenti ha evitato una tragica perdita di vita, con il Personale che ha agito con determinazione e sensibilità nello slegare il cappio e praticare le prime manovre di rianimazione. L‘OSAPP ha sottolineato l’importanza di tali gesti umanitari, evidenziando il ruolo cruciale svolto dal Personale penitenziario nel preservare la vita e garantire il rispetto della dignità umana, anche in situazioni estremamente complesse.
Il Sindacato OSAPP fa notare le grandi sfide organizzative, evidenziando la presenza di soli due Poliziotti su tre piani detentivi, sottolineando l’urgente necessità di fornire risorse adeguate per garantire la sicurezza e il benessere sia del Personale che dei detenuti.
