Nella giornata di ieri, 10 luglio 2023, intorno alle ore 15:30, si è verificato un episodio di violenza presso la Casa Circondariale di Ascoli. Durante la normale visita medica richiesta da un detenuto di nazionalità nigeriana appartenente al Reparto Alta Sicurezza 3, il recluso ha agito in maniera offensiva e minacciosa nei confronti del medico di guardia e dell’infermiera di turno. La causa dell’aggressione sarebbe da attribuire alla mancata esecuzione delle visite specialistiche richieste dal detenuto.
Nonostante le rassicurazioni fornite dal medico e dall’infermiera riguardo a tutte le richieste, il detenuto ha continuato a inveire contro di loro. Fortunatamente, grazie all’intervento del Sovrintendente di turno e degli Agenti di Polizia Penitenziaria presenti, si è evitata un’aggressione fisica al Personale Medico. Preso atto dello stato di agitazione del detenuto, è stato deciso di riaccompagnarlo nella sua cella detentiva.
Tuttavia, al momento dell’uscita dall’infermeria, i detenuti presenti nelle due semi-sezioni destra e sinistra hanno iniziato a inveire contro il recluso, creando momenti di tensione. Grazie alla prontezza del Sovrintendente e degli Agenti presenti, è stato evitato il peggio. Una volta rientrato nella sua cella, il detenuto ha proseguito nelle ingiurie rivolte anche al Sovrintendente e ha attaccato un Agente utilizzando uno sgabello e il bastone della scopa.
Davanti all’aggravarsi della situazione, il personale medico è stato fatto scendere al piano terra per garantirne la sicurezza. Una volta messo in sicurezza il detenuto, sono state prese misure per calmare gli altri ristretti presenti, i quali hanno chiesto che il detenuto venisse spostato in un’altra sezione per evitare ulteriori problemi.
L’Agente di Polizia Penitenziaria ferito è stato accompagnato presso l’Ospedale di Ascoli per le cure necessarie, uscendone con una prognosi di quattro giorni.
Ancora una volta, la Professionalità e il Senso del Dovere del Personale di Polizia Penitenziaria hanno prevalso nonostante le difficoltà organizzative. L’episodio ha dimostrato l’attaccamento al Corpo e l’impegno del Personale nel mantenere l’ordine e la sicurezza all’interno del Carcere di Ascoli.
